The Assessor's Office
The Assessor's Office has the statutory authority to assess real property, change assessors' assessments if necessary, and equalize assessments. The office maintains current property ownership, legal descriptions, and homestead and non-homestead exemptions as well as publishing assessment changes made by the Township Assessors. It schedules hearings for the Board of Review, notifies property owners of the Board's decisions on property under appeal, and publishes assessment changes made by the Board of Review.
